During the height of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, I got assigned to work as a photographer at the Nova Rock x Red Bull live streaming event “You Can’t Cancel Rock ‘n’ Roll”. The event was held at the legendary Pannonia Fields in the eastern part of the country, a location renowned for its vibrant festival atmosphere. Despite the unprecedented restrictions and limited access I was part of the production as photographer for 2-times Amadeus Austrian Music Award winner Kaiser Franz Josef – a dynamic band consisting of Pete, Tom, and Sham. Their powerful presence on stage was a testament to the enduring spirit of rock ‘n’ roll. One of the highlights that day was taking a photo of drummer Tom during soundcheck, which later on got published in “Drumheads!!” magazine 5/2020. Working in such a unique and challenging environment reinforced my commitment to capturing the essence of live performances, regardless of the circumstances.
